Rules and guidelines for the 1Z10 Photo of the Year Competition 2025

There are three categories with three entries permitted per category, giving a maximum of nine photos entered per person
Post processing of images is acceptable
Picture manipulation such as HDR, stitched panoramas, focus stacking, and in-camera multiple exposures are acceptable
In an effort to maintain authenticity no AI-generated imported elements or sky swapping images are permitted in any category
Composite images are accepted taken at the same location in the same shoot. In other words your picture must reflect the scene that was in front of you during the period of the shoot.
Minor cloning, for removal of errant leaves, birds or trackside rubbish, dust spots or scratches are acceptable
Entries into the black and white category must be true black and white pictures. Colour-toned , monochrome, tinted or sepia images are not alllowed
Each picture needs a title and caption
Images should not be signed or watermarked
The judges will view your pictures on a mid tone grey background.
Images may have a border but the border must be white and no more than 12 pixels wide
Your entry image should be a jpg with a maximum of 2,000 pixels on the longest side and be a file size of approximately 2 to 2.5mb
Winners will be asked to supply a high resolution version of their entry for possible publication
Entries must have been taken between 00:00 1/1/25 and 23:59 31/12/25.

Important dates

The competition opens on 17th December and closes at 23.59 on 4th January 2026.
