Railway photographer of the year 2024: overall winner
This image at Ratcliffe Power Station won Eddie the Railway Photographer of the Year 2024 award.
It was declared overall winner by Railway Correspondence and Travel Society (RCTS) in conjunction with Morton Media's Railway Magazine, Rail Express and Railways Illustrated.
It demonstrates Eddies creative approach to railway photography . Post processing is just as important part of modern day photography as is the prior preparation and work in the field. This shot encapsulates Eddie's creative approach to his hobby.
Ratcliffe Power Station is running at full capacity on 24th February 2022. It was the last coal fired power station at that time. Cl. 60 60019 is passing Gateway West Junction with the 0702 Lyndsey Oil Refinery to Kingsbury Oil Sidings.
