No tour of world railways would be complete without a visit to Germany. The country built robuste and beautiful steam locomotives such as the 2-10-0 Kriegsloks, not to mention the amazing diesel hydraulic Maybach locomotives. The Maybach company is still in existance today as MTU but is in fact owned by Rolls Royce.

These photographs mainly show the class 218 diesel hydraulic locomotives from the Saxonia area. Some are taken in low light and show the photographers creative preferances.
